Those black streaks running down a roof are a living organism feeding on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. Pressure washing a roof will take the streaking off, but it takes the protective granules with it and shortens the life of the shingle. We soft wash instead, applying a low-pressure cleaning solution that kills the growth and lets it rinse away.
